Flower Field Uses

Frequently Asked Questions

Q: When can I come pick flowers?
A: There will be at least one public u-pick each month starting in April(dates listed above under events) that does not require an appointment or registration. Outside of these our u-picks are by appointment only. Contact us to make an 1 hour u-pick appointment.

Q: Are scheduled u-picks private?
A: U-pick appointments are not fully private. If you and your party are the only ones that register for that hour you will be the only ones at the field. There is always a chance that someone else will also register for the same time as you.

Q: Can I schedule a Private U-pick?
A: Yes, The flower field can be reserved for private events of 50 guests or less. Please visit our Reservation page for more details.

Q: Where do I park and how do I enter the flower field?
A: Please park on the parking lot in front of the large barn. The flower field can be accessed by walking through the strip of grass on the south side of the parking lot. If the sprinklers are running on the grass strip, please use the gravel path at the east side of the parking lot where the driveway meets the parking lot.

Q: Are there bees and bugs in the field?
A: Yes, this is a working flower farm, so you can expect bees, mosquitoes, bugs, dirt, and a few weeds, but the flowers hide most of the weeds and bees generally leave you alone if you leave them alone. We do use beneficial bugs to help control pests and they will also be present in the field.

Q: Should I use bug repellent?
A: If you plan to pick in the evening, bug repellent is recommended to help keep mosquitoes away while you enjoy the flowers.

Q: Is there a restroom available?
A: Yes, there is a portable bathroom located on the east side of the flower field for visitor use.

Q: Is water provided, and what else should I bring?
A: Fresh water and containers for your flowers are provided. Guests are encouraged to bring a personal water bottle and sunscreen because it can get hot in the field.

Q: Do I need to bring my own clippers or vase?
A: Clippers will be available for you to use, and you are very welcome to bring your own if you prefer. We provide the container to place your cut flowers in. If you bring your own container to put flowers in, please be aware that you may be charged more than the normal u-pick cost, depending on the size of the container.

Q: What should I wear to a u-pick?
A: Because this is a working flower farm, closed-toe shoes are strongly recommended, and if you are picking in the evening, wearing pants helps protect against mosquitoes while you move through the rows.

Q:Can I take pictures at the flower field?
A: You are welcome to take pictures with your phone. Photoshoots of any kind need to be scheduled. Please visit our Photography page for more information.
